Birds instruct their young counterparts on the art of flying. Similarly, Black men should guide young Black men on the journey to becoming responsible adults. The examples set before Black boys significantly shape their learning experiences. A father's involvement is crucial for the child's overall development.
Many black boys desire to be like their fathers
When a father possesses a positive self-image and lives as a constructive role model, his son naturally adopts similar ways. However, if the father is absent for any reason, it often becomes common for the son to embrace the ways of the world.
Black men must become the vanguard of their communities
It is crucial to eliminate the disruptive influences that have torn apart the social fabric of the community. Efforts should be directed towards halting the presence of liquor merchants, foreigners, and others who enter their communities masquerading as well-intentioned entrepreneurs, extracting valuable resources from their localities.
Black men must become father figures in the lives of black boys who have no father present
The greater exposure young Black men have to positive role models demonstrating kindness, care, nurturing, and community involvement, the more inclined they are to emulate such behavior.
Black men must become builders of the community in which they live
It is crucial and wise for young Black men to engage in these activities to foster self-confidence. Observing white men construct skyscrapers, houses, and businesses may lead Black boys to question their own potential and capabilities in such endeavors.
Black men must be proud, responsible, and willing to sacrifice for future generations so that black boys may have a better life
In order to confront the daily social challenges they face, Black men must persist in overcoming illiteracy.
Black men must be loving, positive, and supportive of their daughters
They should serve as positive role models for their daughters, enabling them to gain insights on choosing a future spouse from their example.
Black men must set aside their religious differences and not be limited by religious affiliations
They must understand that we are "our brothers keeper" and that all black men are socially obligated to be the "elders of the village" in which they reside.
Black men must be faithful, honest, God-fearing, supportive, and financially stable before seeking a wife
He should express affection to his wife or partner, as she deserves a caring companion.
Black men must communicate and share their feelings with their wives or partner
They should actively seek guidance from individuals in the community who have proven their positive value. Black men need to embrace vulnerability, openly addressing their fears and addressing areas for improvement, enabling them to achieve a sense of completeness and inner peace.
